for good or not i dont know... but for now i am back... (Hopefully)

i missed writing... A LOT! i might not be a poet, i might not be Arunthathi Roy (her book is still collecting dust in my bookshelf... ), i might not be Robin Cook or Joseph Prince.... but i enjoyed writing.. if u had to go through torture to read it.. ur bad.. ahhahha

so much has been happening.. so little time, and absolutely no time for myself.. that's partly y i sort of stopped thinking about this page. sometimes i even completely forget that i used to have a blog and that i used to write quite regularly and i took a lot of effort taking pics and cooking up stories to write. it's been more than 3 months now since i took a pic!!!!!!!!

so, where do i start now? rambling? complaining? musing? sharing the good and the bad?

i've successfully completed my postgrad, but havent graduated, lost a lot of weight (thats wat other ppl say, but i dont see it at all), have permanent pimple marks on my face (i have no idea wat made that happen while i'm spending so much on Clinique and Body Shop), am successfully still unemployed, one of my best friends got engaged and partly married, another bestie has become a wedding planner, am stuck in a very nice flat but wrong location, have been very busy (reminder: i'm still unemployed but i dont know how i got myself busy) all of a sudden, everyone has iphone i also wan!!!!!!!!, a lot of new ppl to keep track of and keep in touch with, my laptop crashed on me last month and am yet to sort it out and manage my pics and music and folders, and last but not least... am seriously considering getting back to blogging....

i've been a way from home for many years now... so it shouldnt be a problem at all for me to move on. thats wat everyone thinks... but its not that way at all

i always thought i was d odd one out in a new place. it has always been difficult for me to get used to ppl around me and the new environment. though i can adapt to anything easily... there's always something that's different.

i think i've finally mastered d art of getting used to new places, to new ppl, and most importantly, i've realized who i have to listen to.

i've found a few good friends now. i dont know if i'll be staying here for long, i dont know if i'll be able to keep in touch with them even after i leave, i dont know i'll be able to do wat i'm supposed to be while i'm here. all i know is that now i have a few good friends... whom i wish i got to know earlier

the tale of a stupid girl during the most important viva of her life

Her viva was scheduled on the 7th of Sept at 2.00pm, but she was asked to be there in the waiting room half an hour before time, just like everyone else. Little Miss Stupid Girl (SG) rushed to the depart almost an hour earlier because she was too tensed. she didnt even bother studying or revising on the morning of her viva. all she did was spend one whole hour getting ready for the viva. her reasoning was that she should at least look good and impress the external examiner even if she can't answer the questions properly. i must admit, she did look good. but there's no pic as proof that she did look good that day. Miss SG is not called like that for no reason you know.

Her facilitators were worried looking at her. she must have been a sight! they tried to pacify her by telling her that it was going to be alright and that everyone else found the examiners to be really helpful and considerate. Miss SG wasnt convinced at all, but she tried to appear more relaxed and calmed. she reminded herself that her smart white skirt, with white shirt and black blazer would do the job when/if necessary.

it was finally her time and she floated in to the examiners room (i say floated cos that's how she felt before her viva started). she wanted to waste some time and like an idiot started asking stupid questions and delaying the examiners. the external examiner wasnt half as young as she expected him to be. i mean, she was expecting a 29-year-old drop dead gorgeous hunk with deep blue eyes and a sexy english accent whom she was hoping would fall head over heels in love with her at first sight and save her from the viva and all her worries. comparitively, the actualy external examiner was only slightly more than twice the age than she imagination. there goes her little bubble of dreams... sigh...

anyways, moving on to her presentation. since she only had exactly 5 minutes and not one single second extra, she made sure she had enough things to talk about within that time. and she spent a few days getting those powerpoint slides ready. she put in her best diagrams and maps and graphs to impress that examiners. but how well do you think that went? the external examiner dozed off during her second slide! that's how impressive it was!!! the bloody moron did nothing more throughout the remaining half an hour other than to doze off and munch on the cookies and fruits and snacks provided in front of him! who cares about the old man, at least her other examiners were impressed and thought it was a very good job.

Miss Sg successfully finished her presentation within the time limit. the next hurdle was the worst one ever, it was the question and answer session. everyone before her told her that they were asked many many questions regarding their dissertation, so Miss SG was kindda relieved, thinking that it would be mostly about her dissertation. little did she know that it was all going to be upside down for her. the very first question was about some stupid lesson that she learnt ages ago! yes, she messed it up royally... and that too with so much confidence.

Miss Sg's senior lecturer/examiner looked as if she was gonna shoot her and throw her out through the window! sigh....

the next question wasnt all that easy either. no no no, correction... it was easy... but we can all assume how Miss SG would have answered it. it was a very basic question about cancer in an extended family and how the medical geneticist would advice the grand daughter about inheriting the cancer from hte family members. very very simple question, but wat did Miss SG do? she completely forgot wat sporadic cancer (random mutation) and familial cancer (inhereted in the family) meant!

have you ever seen anyone who talks about X and Y sex chromosomes when she's asked to explain about how Robertsonian Translocation in Down's syndrome occurs in chromosome 21?

Miss SG was mentally preparing herself to face anything that might come her way the next day when she got her results.... but all's well end's well.... somehow the Lord showed some mercy on her and let her pass and complete her Postgrad studies.

so, Miss SG is now an unemplyed MSc Medical Genetics from the University of Glasgow gradute.

seriously... its so perfect i dont think anything else that happens for the rest of the day could be any better... and it's only 11.20am now! even my knight in his shining BMW cannot beat this (if his bloody GPS decides to work!)

seriously...i mean seriously... this one takes d cake, the icing, the filling..... EVERYTHING

got a call at an ungodly hour of 9.40am from my flat agent who told me i had to get out of my current flat ASAP! it's only been 6 weeks since i moved in to this place! wat about the bloody contract and all the money that i paid as deposit and all the trouble i had trying to call those idiots to give me my new sofa?!! (i still didnt get the sofa!)

wait thats not all... he said he has another flat ready for me... its just a few block away. its freaking flat 78 where a friend of mine is in! i'm gonna have to be her neighbour!!! and i have no other choice for a flat. if i dont take that flat, they'll just kick me out from this n thats it, i'll have to be sitting on the streets with all my things through the rain and sun!

and the worst part of all is... THIS IS GONNA BE MY 4TH MOVE IN 10 MONTHS!!!!!!!! and the current flat being the least stayed in - 6 weeks!!!!!!!!! only 6 weeks n i have to move again.. i was just getting used to this place, and the neighbour and the flat..n now i have to start all over again

oh no... i cannot imagine packing n moving again! the new flat is on the 3rd floor!!!!!!!!!!! i have to pack everything, carrying it all down 3 floors, drag it to block 78 and carry it UP to the 3rd floor and unpack again!...

oh oh n there's worst part pt2... that idiot of an agent wanted me to move tomorrow!!!!!!! when i told him there's absolutely nothing i can do till the 14th cos i've got to finish my dissertation and submit it, he said then.. i'll give u time till this weekend!!!!!!!!

so i read d brochures wrongly n went on the wrong day... at least i decided to go again the next day... it was worth it!! me had fun! :D

we had amazing weather on the real day. dunno why there were so many fire engines... precaution i suppose

the tall ship! not all that tall.. but a very famous landmark in the West End of Glasgow. if u wanna come to my place, u just have to find ur way to this ship n u'll be 10 minutes away from my place! how cool is that, i've got my own personal landmark now.. ahahahha

the face painting artists did a very good job! i would have done if only we werent too late. i wanted to take pics of other who had already done it... but didnt wanna be rude taking pics without their permission and wasnt bothered to ask their permission before clicking away

the sign on the door said "no entry, private function" ahahahhaha... since when were poop cabins considered as function locations?! LOL

thats a real map, thats seriously ancient. it was HUGE and it was laminated.. otherwise it wouldnt have survived all these years, especially if thousands of ppl pick it up like that every year.

the new additions to the pirates... who didnt know how to be pirates! aahahha.. actually.. too good to be pirates. LOL

that's my mum fighting it out with a little girl to take over the ship. she won hands down... nah... she let the girl win

the foghorn! it sounded so real!! like in Titanic (erm.. i dont actually remember if Titanic had d foghorn... :S.. oh u know wat i mean). 1st my mum tried it and it worked perfectly fine. we were so excited that i was jumping about clapping my hands! then my friend tried it... but it didnt work, so my mum n my friend were fiddling with it n trying to figure out wat went wrong n they broke it! the handle thing fell off!! ahahah

the crew's bunk beds in the lower level of the ship. there were 2 more lower levels below this.. but those were just boring engine rooms and storage rooms that was dark and dusty.

the pirate ship. we missed the pirate attack show cos we were late. must have been really cool

he really looks like a peacock man see! he had all those helium gas balloons attached to his belt strap to prevent it from flyinf off. i wonder how he managed to stay on the ground with all those attached to him!

this was one hell of a ride.. but i didnt manage to get a good pic of it throwing everyone all over the place, cos i was too interested looking at the trampoline bungee jumping next to this. actually, i was trying to cook up a story that i was a kid so that i could go on it. if i cant do the real bunjee jumping, i wanted to at least do this... no, he didnt believe me :(

HUGE jenga!!!! i so wanted to go n play with the boys... i've never seen any jenga this big!! but mum said it was only for kids n i shouldnt spoil their fun =(

the navy ship had super hot, drop dead gorgeous men on it!!!!!the 1st day, i saw one guy standing outside n i was like "he's so hot!!" i still didnt overcome from the fact that such hot men exists when another guy walked out n i was like "OMG!" thank God i had my sunglasses on, otherwise they would have noticed me drooling at them! i think they did cos they were looking at me longer than they should normal do. 2 was enough to knock me off my senses so i didnt linger any longer. n i obviously didnt have the guts to take a pic of them!

this is some sort of a control tower. it reminds me of a building in Dubai. the control tower at the top of it is in a shape of a helicopter... it was so cute. i have a proepr pic of it, but i cant find it now

oh oh! thats d most innovative thing i've seen in Glasgow so far. thats the Imax theater. and it plays 3D movies!! i've never seen a 3D movie before! i'm dying to go there once i'm done with my dissertation

I didn't know what deadlines meant

I knew that 11pm till after 8am was sleeping time, and 9am till 11pm was studying/eating/etc etc time and not vice-versa

I could fit into my fav clothes a couple of months/years back

I wasn't a food piggie

I had meaningful things to write (so it was only once in a blue moon... at least it existed rite!?)

I don't need to moisturize or use make up

I was at my best, with gorgeous hair, skin, and at my best size

my laptop was super fast and obedient

I used to start doing my work (especially a 6000 words dissertation with loads of original diagrams and tables and figure legends and references and annotations!!) 8 weeks before it was due and not 8 days before its due!!!

Glasgow River Festival Day 1

the brochure and the website clearly said that the River Festival wasfrom the 24th till 26th of July, and it was bigger and better this year... but all we saw on the 24th was a major let down for all my expectations

yes, i'm a daft... i got too excited when i saw that it was a festival, and it was near my place and i hadnt missed it yet, and for once i knew of a festival before it was over! hence the misreading of 25th as 24th! :S

wat do u expect to see when u go a day before the actual festival?? ppl setting things up, closed booths and drop dead gorgeous navy crew!!!!!!!!!! (too bad i couldnt manage to take a pic of them!! sigh)

an empty and quiet ship instead of one full of life and laughter and fun

everything was so quiet and dead

all we could do was hopelessly, and aimlessly and not forgetting, shamelessly, take pics

at least, we had decided to drop by the next day to see if the river festival was really bigger and better this year... i wasnt too sure about it at all... but i'm glad we did make it anyways!

Learning cooking from my mum

Mum: i'm gonna cook today, so u concentrate on ur dissertation. we can have lunch whenever u want to

Me: okay, we'll have lunch at 1.30pm. is that ok? do u need any help in the kitchen?

Mum: no, i'm fine... i know my way around the kitchen pretty well now, i can handle it. we'll have lunch at 1.30pm

Me: cool... i'll go n do my work.. i'll be in the living room if u need anything

at 12.40pm

Me: wat r u doing? how's the cooking coming along

Mum: the curry is almost done... i just have to make the mushroom and cauliflower

Me: oh, u made curry out of this? how do u make curry? i never knew how to make curry.. i always end uo making a gravy or a so-called gravy with it

Mum: its very simple. i'll tell u later.

at 2.00 pm while having lunch

Me: tell me, how did u make d curry today?

Mum: just heat oil, stir fry the washed green beans, add some water, chopped onions and tomatoes, chilli powder, coriender powder, and salt to taste. leave it to boil and then its done.

Me: oh.. so simple.. i must try next time

Me: how did u do the cauliflower and mushroom??

Mum: bla bla bla... (simple recipe)

at ~300pm while washing dishes

Me: ma, didnt u add the tamarind in the curry today? u usually add tamrind rite?

Mum: of course i did

Me: see.... me never told me this!!!! if i hadnt asked u about the tamarind now, i would have made the curry without tamarind! how do u expect me to cook well then!!

Mum: u have to come n stand in the kitchen when i'm cooking... otherwise u'll never learn properly....

Me: i dun wan... u cook so many things at the same time.. i never know how to follow

after 20 minutes

Me: didnt u add butter to the cauliflower...? u said u were gonna add

Mum: yea i did *she turns n looks at me with the 'u have to stand here n help me in the kitchen' look*

Me: * raises n eye brow* see... this is y i never learnt cooking from u... ur sister taught me so much better n gave me step by step guide some more!!

really... this is one part of why i never learnt to cook much earlier.. n especially not from my mum

i dont know wat got into me last nite... .

wat started of as a harmful msg reading-deleting-if-unnecessary turned out like this.. cos i got sick of reading mails from year 2004!

n i'm not one to cherish the same forwards which 1000s of ppl would have sent to me. it would have been different if the mails were personal ones from a special someone... but since that doesnt look like happening anytime soon... all the forwards and mails from half a decade ago can go n sit in the rubbish bin n not in my inbox

25 pages of mails + >500 mails + 5 years = deleted in 30 minutes... impressive huh !

but now when i think about it, maybe i rushed into it... but then again... it had to go some day anyways rite...

now i only have my student account to take care of, which is gonna take me AGES!! cos this account doesnt have forwards n mails from 5 years ago! just d ones since Oct '08, but it has hell lot of important mails... sigh... so not looking forward to clearing it up... maybe i'll leave it for another 4/5 years ??

mum has finally started cooking in my kitchen... now i wish i hadnt pushed her so much !

last thursday, she took over my clothes cupboard

last friday, she took over my bathroom

last saturday, she started rearranging stuff in my kitchen. i found onions and potatoes sitting on the kitchen counter rather than in the cupboard. the rice container was sitting on the floor just next to the microwave table (i never had rice in my flat before, so it doesnt belong anywhere).

on sunday i found all my biscuits and cookies and munching stuff happily hiding in the cupboard together with my breakfast stuff n cooking stuff. and my new cans and unopened packs of food went missing from its place!! cos my mum hid it all in a corner (according to her, those dont need to be visible everyday!)

on monday, there was some more changes in the kitchen

on tuesday, my stuff in the freezer were all hopping about

on wednesday, i couldnt find anything i wanted in the fridge, cos they were all hidden behind one another.

in short, mum spent the entire week rearranging all my stuff and i spent the entire week cooking for her cos she wasnt used to my kitchen yet. i didnt mind it at all actually, cos i've never cooked for her before (ignore the fact that i tried to cook for her when i was back home last year). when i cooked on wednesday afternoon last week (just after mum had reached), she didnt complain much (i'd like to think she didnt complain too much cos she was too tired and the jet lag was taking its toll on her) but the food was really good according to my standard.

everday since then has been a bit of a tension cos mum doesnt like my cooking ... cos she wants every dish to be different, with the exact amount of salt, spices and variety but i dont give a damn if there's enough salt or if there's enough spices. as long as something goes into my stomach when i'm hungry and as long as my tummy behaves itself and not embarrass me in public by making noise, i'm happy. i couldnt be bothered to taste the food while i'm cooking and i couldnt be least bothered to have a variety of it all!

so i gave mum time till monday to learn everything around the kitchen and then she can start cooking. guess wat she did... she switched everything around in the kitchen and finally started cooking today.

we've been going out almost everyday since sunday, so mum never really had the time to cook. it was me who did all the cooking. mum promised that we'll stay in on thursday and she'll cook so that i can concentrate on my dissertation. she entered the kitchen at 11.30am today. at about 12.30pm she said lunch will be ready whenever i'm ready to eat. so i told her i'll be done by 1.30pm.

at 1.40pm i still wasnt done with my work and i still hadnt heard from mum yet. i walked in to the kitchen cos i was starving, and was greeted by a hurricane-run-kitchen, with most of my utensils and pots and pans on the counter (this coming from a mother who used to complain that i use up too many things unnecessarily for the simplest needs back home). that aside, i thought she had finally finished cooking, but all i saw that was ready was the curry that was almost done more than an hour ago, and some chopped tomatoes and onions. oh, n the rice was cooking in the rice cooker.

i didnt quite understand wat took her so long, and wat she was doing all along... i was gonna ask her that, but then thought the better of it and kept my mouth shut! (thank God i did!). she wasnt in one of her best moods. she had been struggling her way through in the kitchen looking for the things that she needed and she wasnt happy at all cos she didnt have wat she always uses at home. i quietly ate some biscuits and helped her around in the kitchen.

n then lunch was finally done slightly past 2pm. see... i am needed for everything!! if i hadnt entered the kitchen when i did, i highly doubt lunch would have been ready even by 3pm! (sshhh.. dont tell my mum i said that!)

even though mum takes a long time to cook, lunch was amazingly heavy today. i had to take a break from eating n go for a walk in the house before i could finish the food on my plate! n then i spent the next half an hour digesting the food by cleaning up the mess my mum made in the kitchen!

our roles have switched ever since mum came here. I do the cooking, cleaning, sorting out, arranging and being a perfectionist, while mum does the complaining, eating, non helping part :S

now that she's finally happy (as happy as she can get with a close to well equipped kitchen), she's gonna take care of the cooking herself (while she makes me do all the washing, of course), for which i'm very very grateful, but not too thrilled about .... cos i wont be able to fit into my graduation dress by the end of the year if i eat like i did today!!!!

u know what.. i got to tell u d story of how stupid i was when i saw the watch box in her suitcase while unpacking!

*flash back to about 2 weeks ago* since my mum was leaving her company after 14 years of working there, all the staff decided to get her a watch, cos my mum's a watch freak, n they even let her choose it herself.

when i was talking to her over skype, she told me about the watch hunting story.. (it's a long story, but i'll keep it short, if i skip it, u wont even understand) 1st she said she chose one from Polo. i told her to go get one from Bonia cos she already has enough Polo-s. d next day mum told me that she didnt like anything from Bonia cos it was all too common and plain, and then she chose a Gucci.. i still wasnt happy with it... a few days later she picked out a Guess watch.. paid for it, and walked out.. n then walked back in and returned it cos she wasnt happy with it at all. she finally got a Bonia watch. (see.. i dont understand y mothers dont to listen to their children in the first instant. i knew i was right all along, and it was a Bonia that she ended up with in the end!). she went on and on and on about how beautiful it was, and how gorgeous it was (n it was waaaaaay over the budget that her staff had planned but they still paid for it!)... naturally, i couldnt wait to see it (being a watch freak that i am also). while waiting for the cab in the airport, i finally saw her watch.. n i understood y she fell in love with it.It.Was.Amazingly.Gorgeous!(for that price.. it had better be gorgeous! her friends paid for that unreasonably expensive Bonia! y dont i have friends like that?!)

*back to present* so when i was unpacking mum's suitcase, i saw a watch box, n it looked very classy... like a modified hard paper bag thingy, n i thought it was her watch's box. so i was like.. 'oh, wow.. is this ur watch's box.. it looks so cool', n while talking, i was fidgeting with it, and trying to open it.

that's when the small Guess booklet fell on my lap. like an idiot i picked it up and flipped through the pages claiming that even the booklet looks so cool and has so many languages bla bla bla... then all of a sudden, i realized that one of the pictures of the watch in the booklet didnt look like her watch. i flipped back to that page and started talking about y d pic was so different from her watch, n infact it wasnt even her watch. i thought the shop owner gave her d wrong booklet and even my mum didnt realize.(even while staring at it all along) it took me 10 whole minutes to realize that i was holding a Guess watch booklet and box and not a Bonia! n then i turned to stare at my mum like an idiot and finally realized that it wasnt my mother's watch box but it was some other watch box...n that i was supposed to open it. there it was... my bday present staring back at me.. while sitting majestically on her comfy pillow

i can be such a turtle sometimes cant i! even my mum said it today, "honestly Chumi, u'r very slow in the head department these days" LOL

oh .. wait wait.. thats not it...

mommy also bought me graduation dresses (yup.. its dresses.. cos i've got 2 dresses for my graduation now!! as long as i dont freeze in those .. i should have thought about graduating during the summer rather than winter.. nvm.. i have 2 dresses!!! ahahahah) but i'm not showing u pics of my dresses now.. (its bad luck!) wait till Dec!

the only downside of having ur mum with u for 6 months is that:

she doesnt like ur place as much as u might have expected her to, and d only think u hear from her is that it isnt the same as ur own home back home... (i'm giving her 2 whole weeks to get used to it all here.. she has no other choice, and she cant even go back home before dec, cos i'll only make her come back all the way on the 3rd of Dec!)

she doesnt understand a single thing around the kitchen, especially when its shared with a friend. i've been doing the cooking n cleaning since mum came (okay, it;s only been slightly more than 24 hours since she came... :P) and i dont mind it for now cos i'm finally capable of cooking n cleaning, and my mum is surprised big time! this morning i gave mum a good lecture about dripping water on the kitchen floor and i felt so good, cos she keeps throwing out a 1001 conditions at me back home (those were the days when i only entire the kitchen when i wanna sneak something from the fridge) LOL. and the cooking n cleaning was all worth it, cos mum finally approved of my cooking!! aahahhha... well it was about time actually... (PS: when i told her that, she reverted it to me and said it was about time i learned cooking n cleaning!). btw, i'm only giving mum time till this weekend to get used to my kitchen, and then i'll happily let her take over the kitchen department.. i've had enough of it for the past 10 months!

till yesterday.. when i was all alone here, i had all the cupboard space and storage space and the entire bedroom and bathroom to myself. from today onwards i've got to share it all with mum. i dont mind sharing anything except for my cupboard, cos i spent hours n hours sorting my clothes out and arranging it in a managable way in the no-shelf-only-one-metal-rod-hanger-cupboard that i have now

the 1st thing my mum attacked was my scarves!! look wat has become of all my beautiful scarves! i love of all it and i took care of it with tender loving care all this while! now it's gonna be sitting in this congested little suitcase

and i wont even know wat scarves i have and what i dont! :( and mum was laughing away to glory all along! she can only dream of my sharing my scarves with her now! hhmmpp!! =( =( =(

it felt as it was already Christmas lat nite.

my flatmate and i kept talking about giving cookies of sweets or something at all to all our fellow 70 Ferry Road residences since we moved in two weeks ago as an excuse to getting to know everyone... but we never got about doing it.... till last nite.

my friend and i baked a cake... (okay.. my friend baked a cake and i did the testing part as usual), which was a bit too much for us to finish. so we abruptly thought of giving that cake to everyone.

instead of just cutting pieces of cakes and putting it in plastic bags or watever simple way there is, we (I) wrapped it up in foil paper like it was a christmas present,

had it all lined up (had to line it up cos different sizes of cakes for different flats according to the number of ppl that we estimated),

wrote a note and stuck it on all 7 little parcels,

and went sneaking out at 1am to hang it on our neighbours' doors so that they will see it in the morning.

it really felt just like christmas..

its been 24 hours since we did all that... our greedy neighbours havent even bothered acknowledging!!! we even spent time thinking of appropriate things to write u know!

i've settled in my new flat comfortably now... too comfortably i suppose cos d only time i leave my flat is on sunday to go to church. i'm literally hibernating during summer!

i havent taken proper pics of my flat yet... still waiting for the new sofas to come in. i dont wanna take pics of the old sofa in which i refuse to sit on, cos... errmm.. i just dont wanna sit on it, leave alone take a pic of it! so, as soon as the new sofas come in, and as soon as i rearrange everything in the living room, u'll see y i refuse to leave my flat!

my scheduled posts arent working i dont know y. last week i scheduled something to come up while i was busy moving n and unpacking, but it didnt work. even d last post didnt work.

i've got this sudden urge to read all my posts so far... i did start, n then i got bored! i wonder how so many of u managed reading it all along... or were u just scheming through??

whenever i see a shop (be it jewellery shop, clothes shop, restaurants, etc. etc) with my full name on it (which is very very often), i proudly tell ppl that its my shop. but i've never see a shop with my pet name before. never... till yesterday!

I've got a shop in Zermatt now! i'm so famous!!! HAHAHAHAHAHHA (its almost the same, just ignore the space between M and I) Apparently this shops sells backpacks n things of that sort. Abu said if i were to really open a shop of my own, knowning me i'd be selling handphones! and it'll be called CHUMI FIRST cos i'd use all the handphones myself first n then sell it! HAHAHAHA!!! (the materialist me never fails to show up!)

oh, i'm thinking of a change in carrier. i just realized that i've had the potential to be an excellent chef all along... and i'm soooo good at following cooking instructions! ahahaha. i seriously have to talk about my cooking skills... its been pending since last Nov....cos thats when i started serious cooking for the 1st time ever in my entire two n half decade of life! and talking about following cooking instructions, y cant recipes online or in cookbooks be as simple as Abi's!? Abi, u should write ur own cook book u know!

FRIED VEGE NOODLES

1. Boil noodles and vege (d only remaining vege i had in my fridge was frozen spinach n green peas) for 3 minutes only, strain under cold running water (to stop the noodles and vege from cooking[i seriously didnt know that vege can continue cooking even after straining it!]) and keep it aside. 2. In another wok, heat oil, add onions and ginger garlic paste (either one if u like it that way), chilli powder, soy sauce, tomato sauce (according to taste). 3. add the strained stuff and cook for a couple of minutes. 4. u've got health friend noodles in 10 minutes. this one turned out PERFECT!

GREEN PEAS SAMBAL

1. Heat 4 tblspoon oil, add onions, ginger garlic paste, tomatos and green peas. 2. Cook till goldern brown, then add 1/4 cup of water, 2 tblspoon chilli powder and salt. 3. Cook for a few more minutes and its done. this one also turned out PERFECT (but i modified a bit myself. i didnt add water cos i used canned tomatos that already had tomato liquid)

PASTA

1. Boil pasta, strain n cold water and keep it aside. 2. Heat oil, add onions and garlic, tomato and green peas. 3. Add strained pasta, salt, chilli and maggie powder (if none nvm) 4. Can add chilli sauce and tomato sauce according to taste. this one not perfect cos i accidently added more oil to this thinking it was for the green peas sambal! :P but it still tasted really good, coming from a cook like me who buys ready made pasta sauce in bottles!

with the flat hunting, packing, moving, unpacking, sorting out, settling things, buying things, cooking, i've forgotten about my dissertation! ok,... it's not like i completely forgot. i didnt realize i spent 1 whole month not working on it seriously.. i've only got another month now. according to my planning (which i've quite obviously abandoned), i should have finished my entire research now, and started writting it last week, and complete it by the 1st of August, so that i can double check it n make changes here n there, and have it printed out and bound and ready for submission on the 14th of aug. wat have i done till today? i havent finished my research, forget about starting to write it!

next week today mum's gonna be here!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D

i've never really been a tagging/tagged person before.. but this one sounds like fun (until i start making fun of myself!). n since its sort of a virtual bday present from Maidinmalaysia, i thought i'd just do it. I am awesome because i'm a pint sized wonder! my friend's mum nicknamed me that a couple of weeks ago when she 1st saw me cos that's wat i am. i might look tiny n petite (which i am not anymore! boohoo!), but i speak like a bullet train, i'm capable of handling things better than a grown up adult, .. bla bla bla.. in short .. i'm a pint sized wonder ;) it says it all... which leads to my other awesomeness

I am awesome because of my ability to arrange/organize stuff. during my 1st year of undergrad, i was stuck in a nun's hostel (i dont mean to sound ungrateful, i met some good friends there, and learned a lot about life and ppl.. it wasnt d best years i've had-to put it mildly), a friend of mine was hopeless in taking care of herself or her things-i organized her book shelves, clothes cupboard and accessories cupboard within a few minutes (i was itching to do it ever since i saw that pig sty replica!! ). and a couple of months ago, i organized my ex-flatmate's kitchen for her .. again within a few minutes! *ahem..lifts up collar*. there's more, but i wont bore u to death.i'm a freak when it comes to arranging/organizing/sorting things out!

I am awesome because i'm a survivor. i've been through heaven, hell, earth ... literally whatever anyone can throw at me .. and survived it all with grace n make d best out of it. throw me in a village and when i walk out from it i'll be like one of them, throw me in Queen Elizabeth's palace and i'll walk out from it like i was born n i'll displace Queen Elizabeth herself! that's how i've managed all these years of being in different countries every few months. the change of accent in each country wasnt one of my favourites but hey, it has its own advantages at the end of the day

I am awesome because i can understand and speak many languages and not many ppl know about my hidden talents! AHAHAH*evil laugh*! some of my 'friends' thought i dont understand their language, and they were happily bitching about me while i was there minding my own business (in their own language of course), and turned as white as ghosts when i answered them back!! HAHAHH... that was a sight! nope, they never dared to speak about me in front of me ever since! and most of the time i just hang around like i'm deaf to a certain language, but in reality i understand it! but the biggest joke about understanding some languages and not being able to voice it out correctly is when i asked to borrow a scissors saying, "Kya scissors bohoth busy hai?" ("is the scissors busy?".. wat d hell was i thinking!)

I am awesome because i've moved 3 houses in 8 months. (going to move to the 3rd flat this weekend and am packing up now) i literally have to stuff an elephant into a box half as big as me n multiply that by 10 boxes. that's how much i managed to accumulate. but i've managed to do it as good as almost perfect each time. n have done it before a few years back-from my hostel to a friends house n from my friends house back to Malaysia (if i've managed to accumulate 10 boxes of elephants in 8 months, u can imagine how much i owned at the end of 3 years). i think i'll make a good housewife... but i dont want to be a housewife

I am awesome because i'm 26 years old today, and to date i've managed to keep my dignity, my pride, my virginity, and myself intact and safe... of course it isnt all by myself but because of God and my parents.

I am awesome because i am who i am. i cannot and will not change myself just because someone else is not satisfied with me. i have no needs to change at all, cos i am a perfect combination of everything-the good, the bad, the meek, the fierce, the bold, the coward, the daring soul, the heartless, the compassionate, the procrastinator, the alert(dont laugh! i am at times.. when absolutely necessary..), . some ppl might say this is arrogance, but i think i'm highly blessed, and i am fearfully and wonderfully made my God himself. i have absolutely no clue wat i'm doing with my life, and i so dont care.

i mean, which idiot sleeps at 6am and wakes up at 3pm while in UK, and sleeps from 8am till 4pm while she's in Malaysia? its not even jet lag or the right time difference. it doesnt make sense at all!

the fact that 10pm is as bright as 10am doesnt help and 4am as bright as 4pm is of no help as well!

i'm stuck in a class filled with doctors and specialists and working adults who are all above average and who work hard for all their assignments and exams and manage to get an average mark, while i dont work for it at all n i still get an average mark. y is that so?? cos i'm smart, but i dont make use of it! even a preschooler recognized that!! i do not know of anyone else who's a bigger idiot than i am!

oh.. n these classmates of mine have already started writting their dissertation, while i'm not even trying to figure out wat i'm gonna write on for 6ooo words excluding the references and damned figures and tables and figure legends!

so, wat do i do instead of looking for a job/working on my dissertation/packing? i watch every season of Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives and Hannah Montana and every possible movie! so wat if its such an idiotic movie like Love Guru! as long as i dont have to get off this uncomfortable chairs, i'll stay put n watch anything 24/7. btw, i dont think Meredith Grey is pretty at all.. i think she looks like she's had plastic surgery and its melting off, especially around her upper lip

i'll see if i can get hold of another chair like this in my new house next end of the month. n then we'll see how many movies i watch!

oh btw... yup.. i'm moving out again.. 3rd time in 8 months! n i've got stuff i cannot imagine i've managed to accumulated so soon. i'm gonna have to hire ppl to carry it downstairs from my current 3rd floor apartment and upstairs to my new 3rd floor flat, and pay for 5 cabs at least... oh n did i mention there's no lift?! how cool is my life!

my joggin was supposed to have started on the 8th of June. today is the 18th of June. nope, hasnt started.. hey i'm too busy watching stuff off the internet okay!

i bought four rich chocolate muffins at 3.30pm today and finished it by 4pm today. no wonder i felt sick after that. i thought peanut butter would help... half d bottle of crunchy peanut butter didnt help at all

i'm at the phase again where i dont wanna look at my face in the mirror cos this time i think my skin is allergic to something but i dont know wat and i havent changed anything that i put on my face so i really dont know wat, but this new face of mine looks like its gonna stay for some time. as if feeling like a 30 year old isnt enough, my face has to start showing like its 40 year old! can i wear a mask around everyday and pretend i'm in some drama??

u know ..i dont get it... how is it that when i'm watching a movie, i'm wide awake.. but d minute i start reading some journlas or articles i fall asleep flat on my face?!

exams got over yesterday, n then i realized that i dont have a life besides studies.

seriously.. how much more pathetic can my life get??!

spent the rest of the evening yesterday watching movies n staring out the window, trying to figure out if there's anything besides studies that i could do for the day. i had to clear up my study table and my room... there were notes n papers n books on the table that i didnt have place to out anything else on it, n lets not even bother talking about how my room was

i slept for 12 hours last nite.. without having to set my alarm at 5am (infact i did not switch my alarm on at all) for the 1st time in a week, without having to worry about oversleeping

its a beautiful day today (in Glasgow, that's a rare miracle) but i'm gonna stay in and laze around n not make use of the beautiful day

i'm still trying to smuggle myself back to malaysia this summer... but doesnt look like its working out. come to think of it... i told myself i'm not gonna put myself through the torture of travelling for 14-17 hours ever again for another 6 months at least. it's only been less than 2 months and i seem to have forgotten how miserable d whole thing was.

i'm bored... though i should be starting with my dissertations already... sigh. i pray that no one else gets stuck with a life like mine!

I just realized that in exactly 2 weeks' time, i'm gonna be older than a quarter of a century!!!!

my quarter life crisis started 11 months and 16 days ago... but it was all forgotten within a few days because i was with my family n friends, n i was at home, with a 101 things to do. now i have a 1001 things to do that it didnt strike me till today that we're already in the month of June. i usually count the days and i know wat day my bday falls that year, d year after that n d following year as well!

the number of candles on the cake keeps increasing every year.... actually.. i havent had a birthday cake in ages! i dont know where that came from :S

it's gonna be so miserable this year!! :(

why am i more spontaneous while writing rather than while talking

i've been thinking about it for quite some time now actually. i was reading some of my old posts, n i was baffled myself.. for a moment i thought someone else had hacked my password n wrote it... i dont even remember writing things like that.

i usually write wat i think, n i'm one to speak my mind... so naturally, i should be as versatile even in person rite...? but i'm not... thats y i'm complicated and i dont know it myself.

if i were to read this post a few weeks or months later.. i could be surprised that i wrote this myself... well, i guess its true that some ppl write better than they talk. i think i should start publishing my so-called short stories... (n see if i do make some money out of it). even a lot of ppl have asked me about this... (no, not about publishing my stupid stories, but about my talking vs writing habit)

i was trying to figure out y is it that i can express myself better in writing rather than talking n i realized that its because no one distracts me while i'm typing. but if i were to be talking.. there would be a hundred and one cuts and breaks and pauses and distractions, that i end up forgetting wat i was gonna say in d first place!

imagine how it would be if we all could voice ourselves without being disrupted rudely..? wouldnt it be nice that u can finally say wat u want to, and to think that ur opinion would have made a world of a difference? but i dont that'll ever happen rite... no one's ever going to let you to talk without interrupting u. its as if they get some evil joy out of it. but the only solution to that is to make everyone type things out instead of saying it out! AHAHHAHA!!

imagine everyone carry their notebooks, laptops, PDAs, and smart phones around n typing things out rather than voicing it out. it would be a much much quieter world! oh oh... n wat if someone driving very rashly n u wanna scold him good..! u whip put ur PDA and type abusive words in abusive language, and then chase after him n stop him, and make him read wat u just typed. n he in return will type something else n throw it at u.

okay, that's a stupid thought. nevermind. this is wat i end up doing if i'm allowed to type without any interference. maybe that's y i dont talk as spontaneously as i write.

Culzean castle Pt2-a 500 year old cannibal's cave

PS: i was gonna make up a nice story to explain about the cave near the Culzean Castle..but i'm so not in d mood... this is just gonna be something lame ( as usual?! :S )

Long long ago, so long ago (like ~500 years ago), the husband came back to the cave with his catch for the day's meal, which was a poor goat.

when the wife saw the goat, she started shouting at her husband cos she was sick of eating goats everyday for the past 40 years of her life.

she refused to talk to him and hubby dearest was terribly upset.

he went out again to look for something else. this time he found bunnies, and cats, and dogs and cows and plants and flowers... and yet his wife was still not satisfied.

one day, he caught a kid trespassing in their territory. the husband got so furious that he caught of the little kid and took him to his cave to punish him.

the wife got so excited when she smelled fresh flesh. well... u can guess wat happened next.

that's how they became cannibals and they continued to be cannibals for many generations.

after a few years, the cannibals became bored eating raw flesh... they started roasting fingers. that's how 'finger food' came about.

and this is wat they used to roast the fingers...

well.. no, not really.. this is a coal machine thingy that was near the cave. Douglas told us that the cannibals used that to roast the fingers and i believed it! :S

the cave was very muddy on the inside.. naturally. the unnatural thing is that the mud wasnt of normal colour.

it was a very odd colour and we came up to the conclusion that the turned to that kindda colour cos it was a mixture of soil, blood and water.

after all, more than 1000 ppl were killed and eaten in that cave.

there were femurs lying around near the 'kitchen' too... somehow the skulls were missing.. i wonder where those went to.

i wondered how the cannibals managed to deceive so many ppl.. must have been its ordinary man like smile.

initially when a few ppl were missing, they were thought to have drowned in the ocean... but only after about 1000 ppl went missing, the officials decided to do something about it.

the cannibals were caught and put in prison.

this story is partly fictional n partly nonfictional. obvious the part about the husband coming back home with the goat and the wife shouting at him cos she didnt wanna eat goats anymore is my own stupid ideas. and i know this story sounds horrible and disgusting.. but thats wat happened 500 years ago in the Northen part of Glasgow.

One fine day, the dept decided to give a break and take us all out (but they didnt forget to give us the usual double dose of work load before they took us out!)

there's nothing to talk about the weather... as usual.. it was in one of its moods!

obviously, this place has become a tourist spot... there's a lot of shops where u can have a hot drink...

one of the gardener's house was converted into this little cafe-sort that had yummy yummy ice cream...

and they served it in this amazingly huge portion.... which took me such a long time to finish!

well... the view was worth the wait... so no complains

he became a statue because he touched it... boys never listen do they!

the clock tower..that has been in good working condition for centuries even in d infamous Scotland weather.

Ben Lomond... pt 2-finale

.. wat it is like in a normal day (which is with the rain.. n a wee bit of sun.. thank God for small mercies... )

like i said in d 1st part of Ben Lomond, we were given an excessively long talk about how to be prepared for the trip... n i ended up with all this

i was supposed to stuff all that in one of those bagpack... u would expect me to carry to backpacks up a 3000++ feet mountain would do?!

obvious.. everything wouldnt fit into it.. unless it was Doremon's cute little pouch.. so i ended up wearing half of it n pack d rest in d bagpack.

i'm d kind of person who imagines everything that she hears or reads.

when i read da vinci code and a few other books which were made into movies.. i had very high expectations cos i imagined everything as i was reading it.. but all the movies let me down cos it was nothing like d book.

when i listen to someone relating something to me, i start imagining how it would have really been

sometimes it's good to have very good imagination skills.. sometimes its not.. i'll tell u when its not all that great to imagine things.

about 2 weeks ago, we have this major presentation thing happening in class (it's still happening cos there's 3 PBLs). one of my group member who was presenting was talking about some prenatal testing techniques. when it was question and answer time, d staff from the cytogenetics dept asked him if the transabdominal or trancervical method was better and y. guess how and y he answered.. .

HIS answer: if i were to be the pregnant lady, i'd opt for d transcervical method because its a plastic tube that is used as opposed to the needle that is used for transbdominal method.

So,y all the hype for Ben Lomond u ask... ?

cos, it looks like this:

(this is wat u'd see on a perfect day, but we all know now that perfect days do not exist in Glasgow.. so naturally these are not my own pics)(the ones below was wat i saw)

(see the top of d mountain where its completely covered with clouds and mist.. thats where we were heading)

It's 3196 feet high, the view from the top is amazing and the locals go up this giant mountain every other day cos its a national activity/hobby around here! Check out this page n video (God bless d ppl who did a video on the entire thing)

we were given a 2 hour lecture on how to dress up for the hike, wat to expect, n wat not to expect. little did i know it was gonna be nothing like how everyone talked about it.

less then 100 feet n i was panting like a dog!! can u imagine me making it to d top at 3196 feet!!!

to cut the long story short... i didnt make it to d top, cos i sprained my ankle when we were at 2500 feet, and had to turn back. i had this master plan all worked out (which is to manage to get to the top, and then call for the forest rescue rangers to come n get me down...) but my lecturer wouldnt let me continue when she knew i had hurt my ankle.. she kept insisting that i would be crippled for the rest of my life if i go ahead, n d rest who were stuck with me were more than happy to turn back! they were just waiting for me to voice it out 1st! n i did not take as many pics as i expected to (keeping in mind that i'm a photo freak!). i took some miserable 25 pics.. out of which only 20 of them were so-so.. i was too lazy to take my camera out n take pics.. so i'm waiting to get hold of the pics from my friends so that i can steal it from them n show you wat exactly Ben Lomond was like that day.

the view was amazing when we were on our way down cos it was sunny... but just before that we had heavy mist, and strong winds (which almost blew me away.. i'm not joking!), and hail storm (my face went red by the time it stopped cos it hurt so much!). we were warned that there's possibilities that we might be faced with all sorts of weather... but little did i think that they were serious when they said it. no where else in the world can u get rain, mist, hailstorm, snow and sun within 3 hours in the same area.

my presentation is over!! n i think it went quite well. to my own expectations, i obviously didnt do well, but apparently, my classmates and groupmates thought i did a very very good job. and Dr Douglas liked my answers very much!! i tell u... those words never escape his lips under normal circumstances.. so i guess i did a pretty good job! i would upload d video.. but...
so, all those hours of staying awake overnite, n walking up n down to d lib, with my big fat bag carrying my big heavy laptop wasnt wasted at all.... i'm gonna watch a movie tonite to award myself!! :D

i wish dell would stop sending me mails about their latest deals and promotions. it's tempting me to buy another one again! oh, u havent heard..?? give me a pleasure of briefing u how hard headed and stubborn i am! d day before i left from home-i spent hours driving-looking for a parking spot-looking for d damned entrance of that building under d hot sun-spent hours struggling past the dirty sweating kiasu crowd-looking high and low for an idiotic net book-finally chose one n could pay for it-d shop didnt accept credit cards-walked under d freakin hot sun to my car-drove out of that traffic mess-found an atm machine-withdrew money n then back to that building-paid for parking again-but didnt find any parking space-double parked-walked under d hot sun AGAIN-struggled pass the dirty sweaty crowd of ppl-went to d booth n paid for it-brought it back to d car under d hot sun again-let mum drive n slept on d way back (i NEVER sleep during a 45 minute drive)-reached home with a splitting headache that made me want to be able to remove my head from my neck n soak it a bowl filled with paracetamol liquid n then put it back on my neck when d headache stopped-carried d netbook to my room-switched it on-stared at it for 2 hours-friends came over-showed it to them-3 hours later told my mum i didnt want it-decided to give it to my friend-------all this while listening to my mum nag, n not one teeny weeny bit of joy AT ALL! so yeah.. i gave it to my friend n ended up bringing back my heavy 14 in laptop, which i lug it around now... thats my story of buying a netbook in 3 hours, and getting rid of it within 5 hours

I'm going to Ben Lomond tomorrow!!!!!!! yay!!!!!! its a 3000++ feet high hill/mountain. i'm going for d sake of taking pics.. it looks amazing!! my lecturer showed some pics from d previous trips n i fell in love with it... i dont care even if i end up with blisters, or if i freeze myself into a statue-like in Narnia, or if i get blown away at 3000 feet high, or if my friends have to hold me by me legs/hands n drag me all d way up along d rocky/muddy path,... i am reaching d top to stand above d clouds n take pics. you'll definitely see pics in a few days time.. but dont bother if u cant recognize a verticle sausage like person in those pics... just ignore the eye sore n enjoy d pics-IF i do go... i really hope d weather doesnt play me up in d last minute tomorrow!

oh, n i think its high time i took a wee bit of a care for my laptop. yesterday a friend of mine mercilessly told me to go n do something about it. she went like , "how could u, how can u let ur laptop be like this. i mean, look at it. i wouldnt have d heart to leave mine like this." she has a sony Vaio T series.. of course she'd want to guard it her life! ok.. i dont mean to sound ungrateful... but i cant help it.. i doesnt look so dirty when i'm looking at it in my room everyday. its just that d dust shows very obviously when i take it out.. especially to the lib! its as if its showing its temper to me :S. i think i better shut up n clean it up.. otherwise i'll start sounding like a total nut (not that i'm not now anyways... )

i wish i had a phone that would send pre-typed text msges on scheduled dates... yes, just like how scheduled blog posts work. i've forgottened to wish so many ppl for their bdays and anniversaries and even all d best for exams... all because i remembered it a few days before, but forgot to text msg or call them on that day itself, and remember it a few days after (my short term memory loss is a whole chapter on its own which i wouldnt wanna jumble up with my wish list), i'd prefer to text them saying, "hey i know ur bday is a few days away... but i thought i'd rather wish u now n be d 1st person to wish u this year, instead of forgetting it on that day or sending a belated msg".. eventhough its months away (PS: i only said i'd prefer, i didnt say i always do that or i like to do that).

i mean, think about it... wouldnt it be so cool n convenient?! lets say u remembered an old classmate's bday a few days before the actual day... all u have to do is type a text msg especially for him/her and save it with the actual date. come d actual date, u dont have to worry about remembering that day's important things.. cos ur text msg would have been sent to ur friend already.

while u'r thinking about how convenient ur life would be too if u had that kind of a phone... check out this phone! i still dont believe its true... but its just too cool that you wouldnt wanna miss it. even being the coffee disliker that i am, i still want this phone!

first time ever i buy something from ebay and i get conned!!

i've been hunting high and low for a second phone for quite sometime now. i didnt want to buy a used phone cos u never know wats wrong with it and i didnt want to buy a new phone cos it wasnt worth it for me now, cos i already have a good phone.

every phone that i saw in the shops were all locked to some network but i wanted an unlocked phone cos i wanted to buy my own sim card. at 1st i thought of buying an O2 phone cos d sim card that i was gonna get was O2 too. but it worked out to be expensive cos i had to pay for d credit also (which i wasnt gonna use at all!).

my only resort was to find an unlocked phone in ebay. and i spent hours looking at ebay i tell u! no, hours is an understatement... d truth would be.. i spent HOURS!!!! and i finally decided on one phone that i wanted and it was cheaper from ebay than from shops. but i didnt buy it cos i was going to go back home at that time. there's no point in getting a phone and sim card n not use it but pay for its charges for 3 weeks rite. so i thought i'd come back and find d phone.

when i came back, i ordered the sim card 1st, and that came within 2 days,i didnt exapect it to come so soon.(ordered it online). since i already got d sim card i thought i might as well start using it cos i'm being charged for it already (post paid). i was using it in my own phone cos i didnt buy another phone yet. and then i finally chose another phone from ebay (cos d other one that i wanted wasnt available anymore ), and got it delivered to me d day before.

when i was looking for this phone, i made sure it was a new phone. i didnt want to get a second hand phone, especially from ebay. d ad said it was a bloody new phone... but turns out it isnt!!

d phone looks good.. infact it doesnt look as if its used at all, it has new cover n things like that. but u know a phone is used when u see one dont u. thats wat happened with mine. it was a used phone, but it had new cover, and new battery. i couldnt be bothered cos i wasnt even gonna use it everyday, only for international calls once in a while.

but d problem with this phone now is that d seller cheated me!! cos d battery doesnt work!. it doesnt charge at all. when i plug in the charger and switch it on.. d phone says unable to charge. and d thing about this stupid phone is that it works like a dicsman that works with a DC cable. this phone doesnt even need a battery when its plugged it! but when i switch off d charger d battery says its very low.

now i have to carry d bloody charger along and plug it in all the time if i want to make a call or receive a call from that phone! even rite now its plugged in to the charger so that it stays on. i paid 35 pounds for this freakin thing!!!!!!!!!

years ago i used to tease my cousin sis that her phone charger was like a glucose drips for her phone cos the battery was that lousy and it wouldnt stay on without the charger. it's come back to haunt me now!

A couple of friends decided to meet up for lunch and catch up on each other cos one of their friend was back home for a short break.

let me introduce the characters to you before i continue my story.

Just like any other sane person would be, the characters in this story are the same... except that the word sane doesnt defy them the same way as it does for others....

to these ppl sane means, being themselves, having fun, laughing at each other n at themselves, and entertaining their audience at their own cost.

they are never seen without a camera, especially CN...

otherwise, how will u ever be able to capture moments that will never come by again??

its really fun to be able to go to so many different places, and experience the culture there, and get to see and do new things, try new food, try a hand in new activities and make new friends....

but....

yes.. there's always a but in between nice things...lets not forget the things that are not so nice,

there are a lot of things that u need to do before and after travelling... like

- packing and unpacking
ok, packing might not be so difficult if u're going back home where u know u have some clothes left. so, its ok even if u have to run to d airport rite after ur exam or some important meeting. u can chuck a pair of jeans and a few tops and some basic toileteries into ur suitcase and u're ready to go. but unpacking after u've come back from ur trip is something which u wouldnt wanna do if given a choice. cos there's guaranteed to be a lot more stuff than those that u took with u when u went. doing the laundry might not be ur worse nightmare, but eating a chocolate brownie which u brought from home that tastes like ur expensive Christian Dior Poison perfume would be one. well, this happens when u dont pack properly, or even when u think u've packed everything properly. wats worse than that is, seeing ur favourite perfume has spilled over ur clothes and comb and floormat! another thing with packing/unpacking is that u're bound to see many broken stuff in ur suitcase. if it's ur favourite hair clip or comb or watever... 'dont get disheartened...' thats all i can say to u.

- carrying ur luggage around
did u know that even 15 kilos can be as heavy as 51 kilos! and u'd not be lucky enough to have someone help u pull that bag full of stones all the time. my best bet would be that u'll have to carry it on ur own up n down the stairs/bus/cab/hill. trust me when i say that u shouldnt try dragging ur suitcase up the stairs or pushing it down the stairs. its easy to be said, but not as easy to face the consequences within a few minutes.

- the flight itself
if u're the kind who talks to every tim, dick and donkey and kills the hell out of the passenger next to u, u dont have to read this. u'd survive any situation cos u'd literally strangle anyone next to u. but if u;re the kind who likes to keep to urself, watch a movie or two, listen to music and not talk to strangers... beware.. life will not be tolerable all the time. if u're stuck sitting next to a big, fat man who smells like he's just had his shower in a pool of cigarette smoke... 'sigh.. i'm sorry for u'. and if there's no in-flight screening, or head sets to listen to music, or no books to read... may God bless ur soul.

- and the worse one would be the jetlag and consequences of sitting still in ur seat for 14 hours
look, it really doesnt matter if u have to trouble the person sitting next to u to get off his seat so that u can move around a little bit. if he complains or grunts or even as much as hesitates for a second... u give him good that he wouldnt even wanna sit next to u! cos its u in d end who has to suffer with a stiff neck, and messed up back and jammed knees and God knows wat else. and it doesnt even matter if u have to jump over him and get out... step on him and go if he refuses to move! that'll teach him good.

i wore skinny jeans (not that skinny), and a shirt that has become a size too tight for me now (but i still wore it), my long black leather jacket, long earrings, brown and gold stripped hat(it was something like this, but not this), my new black pump shoes, and i let down my hair.

i looked stunning!

if i say so myself... then i really did look good! LOL

all my friends who saw me today told me that i looked really nice. even strangers on the street actually stopped to compliment me! :D
